Jing Dang
Hello,
everyone!
My name is Jing
Dang. I'm the
founder of
BananaFish
Education, Pty Ltd.
(BFEdu), in
Australia. Before
earning my second
Master from the
University of
Sydney, I had
lectured and taught
Chinese Traditional
Culture and
Philosophy at
Guangdong Lingnan
Institute of
Technology for six
years. During my
years of teaching, I
saw the growing gap
between the last
generations and the
young generation.
Grandparents were
raised in the old,
poverty-ridden
times, the parents
grew up in the early
stages of China’s
modernization, while
the new generation
is growing up in the
modern and hi-tech
China.
Therefore,
our children’s
understanding of,
and their
expectation of life
wellbeing are
diverse from their
parents and
grandparents. For
strengthening
parent-children
understanding and
fulfilling the
wellbeing competence
of the new
generation, it’s
essential for
parents and
grandparents to gain
more knowledge and
develop more
reliable and
consistent parenting
skills through
constant learning
and information
sharing –
as we
reap what we sew!
As a single mother
of a 2-year-old
daughter at the
time, I realized the
importance of
helping myself, my
daughter, and
millions of Chinese
single and married
parents with raising
children in the
current and
ever-evolving modern
China. Therefore, in
2016, I decided to
quit the job I truly
loved and go
overseas to enrich
my qualifications in
education and
psychology, for my
own and more
families’
development.
I applied and was
accepted at the
University of
Sydney, Australia,
and earned my second
Master of
Educational
Psychology,
specializing in
children's cognitive
learning, individual
diversities, and
parental
interactions with
their children.
After my overseas
study, I settled
down in Sydney, an
international and
multicultural city,
with many Chinese
residents, and now
my focus is more on
family education and
sustainable
development.
My passion for
developing and
working together
with families on
functional and
practical parenting
never stops. This
includes
single-parent
parenting,
step-family
parenting, parenting
left-behind
children, parental
interactions with
their children,
parents’
interactions with
each other, and
family as a whole.
Our primary goal for
BFEdu is to address
these issues through
online courses, live
lectures, forums,
and picture books to
help parents and
children better
understand and cope
with the
ever-changing times.
Empowered parents
empower their
children.
As it’s evident,
China’s rapid
developments have
created billions of
opportunities and
jobs worldwide and
over 400 million
Chinese middle-class
with income and the
ability to pay for
better educations
for their children.
Although better
learning is
essential, no amount
of schooling can
replace good and
functional
parenting. Our
objectives are to
apply the modern
psychological and
educational
knowledge,
maturely-developed
Western-and-Eastern
scientific research
and tools, good
Chinese traditions
and culture in
raising healthy,
strong, stable,
dependable, secure,
and confident
children.
So, please join and
support BFEdu to
help raise the best
generation.
Best wishes!
Jing
